Literarily lovely: The Chinese Library, Hong Kong Central

Had a fabulous lunch at The Chinese Library which is part of the gorgeous Police Headquarters redevelopment in Central Hong Kong. Just a short walk from the new Police Married Quarters(PMQ) where we stopped by to explore the intriguing small art and design stores now populating what used to be housing for the police.

PMQ brimming with art, design and crafts
Super interesting new art and design mini stores at PMQ HK.

Just a short walk from PMQ is the redeveloped Police HQ where bars and eateries occupy the beautifully restored colonial building. sitting upstairs with views over the old police parade coutyard is The Chinese Library serving dim sum and a La carte cantonese – literally a library of recipes on the menu,

Razor clams with cucumber

We loved the deliciously spiced razor clams with cucumber, the super light and crispy aubergine fingers sprinkled with a crispy shrimp, snake bean and chilli seasoning and …..the best ever sweet and sour iberico pork.

The 15 minute wait for their freshly baked, melt-in-your-mouth custard tarts was definitely worth it.

Great service, stunning decore and centrally located. Worth “booking” in to this library next time you’re in Hong Kong!
